HUD Official Joins CFPB

Bart Shapiro, who directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s mortgage settlement office, has joined the CFPB as a senior advisor for the Office of Community Banks and Credit Unions.

Shapiro was the Deputy Director at HUD in charge of administering the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. Prior to that role, Shapiro was in HUD’s general counsel’s office.
