Republicans Renew Vow to Block CFPB Director Nominee

Following Rob Cordray’s hearing in the Senate Banking Committee yesterday, Republicans renewed their vow to block any nominee until structural changes are made to the organization.

In an joint statement with other Republican members, Sen Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) stated:
My colleagues and I stand by our pledge that no nominee to head the CFPB will be confirmed by the U.S. Senate -- regardless of party affiliation -- without basic changes to the Bureau’s structure.
