Date Appointed CFPB’s Deputy Director

Newly appointed CFPB Director Richard Cordray yesterday named Raj Date the agency’s first deputy director.

Cordray also appointed Kent Markus as head of the CFPB’s enforcement division, the position Cordray vacated to become director. Markus had been the enforcement office’s deputy assistant, and was chief legal counsel to former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland (D) before joining the CFPB.
