Hoenig & Norton to Join FDIC Board Today

Thomas Hoenig and Jeremiah Norton will be sworn in as FDIC Board members today. Their addition will fill out the board to five members for the first time since July 2011.

The Senate on March 29 confirmed Hoenig and Norton to the board, and also extended the board term of FDIC Acting Chairman Martin Gruenberg. But the chamber did not vote on the nominations of Gruenberg to become agency chairman and Hoenig to become vice chairman.
