Federal Reserve Issues Volcker Rule Guidance

The Federal Reserve has published guidance clarifying the conformance period during which covered entities must bring activities and investments into compliance with the restrictions on proprietary trading and relationships with hedge funds and private equity funds imposed by the Dodd-Frank Act (commonly referred to as the Volcker Rule).

Covered entities have two years from July 21, 2012 to conform all activities and investments to Section 619 of the Dodd-Frank Act.
