Senate Panel Approves Increase Funding for Regulators

The Senate Appropriations Committee yesterday approved, by a 16-14 vote, the fiscal year 2013 Financial Services appropriations bill. The bill would provide about $23 billion to the Treasury Department and the banking and securities regulators, an increase of about $1.3 billion over fiscal year 2012 funding levels and $1.8 billion more than the House version of the legislation provides.
