Hearing: How DFA Impacts Consumer Choice and Access to Credit

Raj Date, Deputy Director of the CFPB, today will testify at a House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit on the Dodd-Frank Act’s effect on consumer choice and access to credit. The hearing will begin at 2:00 pm.

In Date’s prepared testimony he discusses mortgage related rulemaking the CFPB has focused on and focuses on the importance of transparency, fairness, and incentives for responsible behavior across financial services markets.
The mortgage market will recover when we have restored transparency, when we have restored fairness, and when we have restored financial incentives that reward people for making smart decisions.
