House Dems Seek OMB Support for TAG Extension

House Financial Services Committee lead Democrat Barney Frank (D-Mass.), panel member Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) yesterday urged the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to support an extension of the Transaction Account Guarantee (TAG) program.

In a letter to OMB Acting Director Jeffrey Zeints the representatives wrote:
TAG is slated to expire at the end of this year, but we think the program should be extended to assist our economic recovery. We urge OMB’s support for at least a two-year extension of TAG in upcoming communications to Congress regarding expiring federal programs.
