The Federal Reserve unveiled Community Banking Connections, a new publication and online resource for community banks. The publication will clarify key supervisory guidance, highlight new regulations, provide perspectives from bank examiners and Fed staff, and address challenges and concerns facing community banks, according to the website.
The inaugural issue includes a conversation with Bernanke, in which he shares perspectives on the benefits that community banks bring to the U.S. economy and the challenges they face. The publication also includes an FAQ on Basel III and stories on interest rate risk management, appraisals and the Fed’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council.
