FDIC Meeting to Consider Final Stress Testing Rules

The FDIC will be holding a Board of Directors meeting Tuesday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. The Board will discusses matters including a final rule to implement Section 165(i)(2) of the Dodd-Frank Act regarding stress testing requirements for certain institutions. The final rule would require FDIC-insured state nonmember banks and state-chartered savings association with more than $10 billion in total consolidated assets to conduct annual capital-adequacy stress test.

The Board will also be considering a final rule containing long-awaited revised definitions of subprime consumer loans and leveraged commercial loans for banks with more than $10 billion in assets that are subject to the large-bank pricing assessment system.
