Three New Democratic Members Assigned to Senate Banking Panel

The Democratic Steering Committee yesterday assigned three new members to the Senate Banking Committee: Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), and Sens.-elect Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.). Sen. Michael Bennet (Colo.) is leaving the panel for a position on the Senate Finance Committee. Sens. Daniel Akaka (Hawaii) and Herb Kohl (Wis.) are retiring. Otherwise, the Democratic roster is the same. The Democratic caucus still must approve the assignments in January.

Read about other Democratic committee assignments.
