ABA Offering Briefing on Appraisals for Higher-Risk Mortgage Loans

ABA is offering a telephone briefing—Tuesday, March 19, 2-4 p.m. EDT—on the joint final rule issued by the CFPB and the federal banking agencies that will establish new appraisal requirements for “higher-risk mortgage loans.”

The briefing, “Appraisals and Higher-Risk Mortgage Loans,” will cover the CFPB’s regulations requiring new appraisal disclosures on all closed-end mortgage transactions, and also mandating that lenders provide applicants with free copies of all appraisals.

The appraisals briefing is the final in a series of six briefings providing in-depth information on the half-dozen new mortgage-related rules that the CFPB issued in January.
