OIG Report Includes CFPB Focused Initiatives

The Office of Inspector General released an updated work plan presenting the major initiatives and priorities which it plans to focus to assist the Board of Governors and the CFPB in fulfilling their respective missions.

The OIG has a number of ‘work in progress’ items planned to focus on assisting the CFPB, including:
  • Evaluation of the CFPB’s Integration of Enforcement Attorneys into Examinations—planned completion in 3Q 2013;
  • Evaluation of the CFPB’s Compliance with Section 1100G (SBREFA reviews)—planned completion in 4Q 2013;
  • Evaluation of the CFPB’s Supervision Program—planned completion in 4Q 2013; and
  • A 2013 Audit of the CFPB’s Information Security Program—planned completion in 4Q 2013.
In addition, the OIG has planned projects to further assist the CFPB fulfill its mission, to include;
  • Audit of the CFPB’s Public Consumer Complaint Database—planned completion in 3Q 2013; and
  • A Joint Audit of Coordination between the CFPB and Other Regulatory Agencies—planned completion in 4Q 2013.
