Thomas Richards of Owingsville Banking Company, Owingsville, Ky., will testify on ABA’s behalf tomorrow before the House Financial Services Committee’s financial institutions subcommittee. Richards will discuss two ABA-supported bills to reduce regulatory burdens on small banks, as well as a bill opposed by ABA that would give privately insured credit unions access to the Federal Home Loan Bank System. The hearing will take place at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
The full House is expected this week to consider H.R. 3309, a patent reform bill that contains several ABA-supported provisions. The House Judiciary Committee will examine the bankruptcy code’s effect on financial institution insolvencies today at 1 p.m.
