ABIA Report Examines CFPB Marketing Enforcement

The CFPB looks closely at terms, conditions and pricing in marketing solicitations, according to an American Bankers Insurance Association (ABIA) outside counsel report on recent CFPB enforcement activities. “The agency has also continued to stress the importance of training and oversight when sales activities are conducted by third parties,” the report found.

ABIA’s outside counsel prepared the report after the CFPB fined a bank over allegedly unfair and deceptive marketing tactics for a retail credit card offered for health care.
