CFPB: Source Code for Finding HUD-Approved Counselors

The CFPB has published the open source code that lenders can use to build their own tools allowing them to find the 10-closest HUD-approved housing counselors to a loan applicant’s location. On November 8, 2013, CFPB released an online tool to help lenders provide mortgage applicants with a list of nearby housing counselors, as required by the bureau’s mortgage servicing rule. The new source code is meant to allow lenders to build their own tool for finding housing counseling agencies.
