OCC Supplements Exam Procedures on Derivatives

The OCC yesterday issued supplemental examination procedures on risk management of financial derivatives in the Comptroller’s Handbook. The supplemental procedures reflect growing derivatives activities at national banks and apply to active end users of derivatives or to banks that engage in significant trading activities.

The supplement includes minimum scope procedures for bank policies, systems and governance structures related to derivatives and trading, as well as ongoing portfolio monitoring for new and evolving risks.

View the exam procedures.
