ABA, Groups Seek More Time on Complaint Proposal

ABA and several trade groups on Monday requested a longer comment period for the CFPB’s proposal to add consumers’ narratives to the publicly available material in its consumer complaint database.

The groups noted that the CFPB is still studying how it will protect the privacy of consumers who submit personal stories with their complaints, and thus it should provide a 60-day comment period after it releases the results of its own study and allow at least 90 days from the proposal's publication in the Federal Register.

Read the letter.
