Keating Talks Community Bank Relief on Bloomberg

The challenges of community banks are challenges for hometown economies across the country, ABA President and CEO Frank Keating said on Bloomberg’s “Market Makers” program. “There’ve been a lot of headwinds to community banking and that’s not good for America,” he explained.

Keating offered several examples of Dodd-Frank Act fixes that would help community banks better serve their customers, including allowing the safely underwritten mortgage loans held in a community bank’s loan portfolio to receive Qualified Mortgage status.
