Fed Proposes Rule to Extend Small Bank Relief

The Federal Reserve proposed a rule that would expand the regulatory relief provided by its small bank holding company policy statement. Implementing legislation passed by Congress in December, the rule would raise the statement’s asset threshold from $500 million to $1 billion and extend coverage to savings and loan holding companies.

Comments are due by March 4.
