The Office of Inspector General has released its most current Work Plan for the CFPB, reporting on the audits and evaluations that the OIG is conducting. The OIG’s ongoing and planned projects for the CFPB include:

  • Security control review of the CFPB’s DT Complaints Database to evaluate the adequacy of certain control techniques designed to protect the data in the system from unauthorized access, modification, destruction or disclosure;
  • Audit of the CFPB’s distribution of funds from the Civil Penalty Fund to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the process for identifying victims; and
  • Evaluation of the CFPB Enforcement Office’s process for protecting confidential information to assess the Enforcement office’s regulations, policies and procedures for safeguarding confidential information and the effectiveness of its controls designed to maintain the confidentiality of such information.
