Basel Committee Issues FAQs on Liquidity Coverage Ratio


The Basel Committee released a second set of FAQs on Basel III’s Liquidity Coverage Ratio, which requires banks to hold highly liquid assets relative to cash outflows over a 30-day period during a stressed scenario. The LCR generally applies to banking organizations with more than $50 billion in assets. The FAQs are intended to provide clarification on the rule’s interpretation.
